Overall objective: To promote dairy milk safety for an improvement of human health
To improve local population health and wellbeing through promotion of safe dairy production, with a specific milk value chain approach in the area of Asella, East Arsi, Ethiopia
Specific objectives:
1.development of a system control of dairy milk safety
2.development of a payment of dairy milk based on milk characteristics
3.improvement of dairy milk production in Ethiopia
Main Activities:
1.Selection of dairy farms2.Analysis of farms management, animal nutrition and health and milk characteristics
3. Improvement of dairy milk characteristics
4.Introduction of a milk cooling system in the milk collecting points
5.Introduction of a payment system based on milk quality
6. Participation to the realization of a Milk Business Hub
Expected outputs:
1. Food safety of milk and milk product consumers will be ensured
2. Milk collection on quality based payment system will be introduced
3. Market out let will be created for milk producers
